What happened
Heritage brands face a growth problem that performance-first agencies often misunderstand. The brief is not simply to acquire more customers. It is to acquire the right customers at the right pace without eroding the scarcity and exclusivity that the brand's existing customers paid for.
This watchmaker had everything the category demands. Craftsmanship, history, global recognition, and a customer base that measured their loyalty in decades. What it lacked was a digital growth model capable of finding new audiences for that proposition without cheapening it in the process.
Digital channels were active but conservative. Paid media had been structured around brand presence rather than acquisition. The implicit strategy was to be visible without pushing. New audiences were being reached in a passive sense. Converting them into customers required a different approach.
We built structure across three areas simultaneously. Media was rebuilt around full-funnel thinking and audience development, with creative direction built from performance signals to identify which new customer profiles had the highest lifetime value potential. On-site experience was optimised to convert the traffic media was generating. Market-specific approaches were developed for the geographies with the highest growth potential.
Over 85 market-specific tests were deployed across the engagement. Qualified digital demand increased 3.6x. eCommerce revenue grew 2.9x. New customer acquisition lifted 62%.
The shift was deliberate. So were the results.
