More than just an intersection, Yonge + St. Clair is “4 corners with a vision.” With its vibrant greenspace, provocative mural and workplace with a view, they have so much variety to fill the block. This neighbourhood is full of stories.

This neighbourhood was always very live, but has slowed down, although there are tons of future plans to bring the lively environment back to Yonge St. Clair. With this vision in mind, the local business community formed the Yonge + St. Clair BIA in 2018, as a non-profit organization to drive community initiatives, plan streetscape and economic development improvements and also, execute local programs and events.

Currently, the Yonge + St. Clair BIA is revitalizing and reenergizing the neighbourhood in many ways. One of the ways is the free health and wellness classes at their Rooftop Wellness Series.

Summary

The Yonge + St. Clair BIA is hosting their Rooftop Wellness Series with a goal of bringing more awareness to wellness based businesses in the BIA, and get the community more involved. The Bold x Collective team assisted the BIA to capture the event series in the most vibrant, visual way we could which was through video production. We created a 30-second commercial, highlighting what this movement is all about.

Our team attended their first ever Rooftop Wellness Series and shot the event, beginning to end. We captured fantastic footage – from shots of the excited participants to the local business hosting the wellness series and ofcourse, the stunning, cinematic view of the city as the sun was rising.

 
 
 
 

Firstly, video has become a leading form of content on social media. The Bold x Collective team felt a 30 second video would work best to help promote the series for various reasons. Firstly, short videos are growing in popularity on social media. The habits and desires of viewers are for short content, especially when it comes to social media. As data has been piling up on social videos, publishers are learning that videos under 1 minute are the most effective component of their social strategies. People have short attention spans which is why shorter videos are key. In addition, video drives engagement; short form does it best.  

Upon discussion, we created this colourful, fun video showcasing the Rooftop Series. With this video, we hope to bring in more of an audience and showcase the opportunity for businesses to host a Rooftop Wellness class for this series, via Yonge + St. Clair BIA. And also highlight Yonge + St. Clair for businesses opportunities in general.
